60th Anniversary of Girl Guides (Hong Kong, 1976)

The first Girl Guides Company of Hong Kong was set up in 1916, with the Hong Kong Girl Guides Association founded three years later. The Association’s symbol is a stylised flower, coloured purple for Hong Kong’s national flower and red for luck. Globally, the Guiding movement operates in over 150 countries and has over 10 million members – it must be the largest global gathering of girls and does some incredible campaigning and research work as well as providing activities, education, sharing and social activities.
