Jesus Villamor (Philippines, 1973)

Jesus Villamor was a Filipino pilot and intelligence officer during World War II. The Philippines came under air attack by the Japanese the day after Pearl Harbour, and Villamor and his squadron were instrumental in providing air resistance during 1941 and 1942. He was the first pilot to shoot down a Japanese plane during WWII.

After he was shot down in 1942, Villamor became an Intelligence Officer. He was able to infiltrate the Japanese Navy, established a chain of direct communication from the Philippines with General Douglas MacArthur in Australia, and coordinated the guerilla activities of various movements in Luzon, Mindanao and Visayas.
