
One from the brief period where photographic or photo-realistic stamps were in vogue. Here we have what looks like a photo of an engraving or sculpture of the birth of Jesus. The labelling on the stamps suggests that it connects to the town of Huesca in northern Spain and a previous stamp seeker’s Twitter feed suggests a connection to the Abbey of San Pedro el Viejo.
And that’s where the trail stops. This is undoubtedly a fragment of art of some significance – it made it on to a national stamp – but I can’t tell you any more about it…
