Within the last couple of hours, the result of the US Presidential Election has been called. Joe Biden will be the 46th President of the USA. Kamala Harris will be the first woman and the first woman of colour to be Vice President. 2020 – a year of global shocks, an ongoing pandemic, devastating environmental catastrophes, political polarisation, personal grief for so many people, the death of my brother, just a year of utter shit – that 2020 has done something to redeem itself. It has given us hope; it has given us a renewed belief that things can change because we can change them; it has shown that nothing lasts forever.
Meanwhile, the soon-to-be-former President, Donald Trump, is playing golf. Nowhere near as well as Gary Player (pictured above) who won nine major championships during his long and stellar career.
