Prairie Town (Canada, 1978)

This one caught my eye: it has a beautiful watercolour style and a Norman Rockwell vibe that sets it apart from many a stamp in terms of its artistry. That said, I thought it’d be a tough cookie to track down, what with the lack of captions, credits etc.

Fortunately for me, this is a bit of a favourite of one particular stamp connossieur so I was able at least to glean a year and a title. If you’d like to know more about the variations in the two main printings of this stamp, please do follow the first link below.

But if you’ve read this website before, you’ll know I’m not a stamp geek per se, just someone who is allowing stamps to spark curiosity. In a quest to identify the prairie town whose Main Street is captured so beautifully above, I have fallen into a delightful internet rabbit hole.
